Welcome Reception (October 8th): Enjoy the wonderful sites of the city, from the top of the Hotel Nikko. Cheese and drinks will be served.
Food Expo (October 9th): The Food Expo will highlight the importance of consumer choice when it comes to sustainable foods. Three local Bay Area Renowned Chefs will each prepare one course of a meal during a live demonstration. Portions will be served to 200 attendees at the City Club. Thursday October 9th: Driving Food Waste Action Workshop from 8:00am – 9:30 am in the Golden Gate Room (Hotel Nikko). Please join like-minded peers from government, academia and industry on the quest to end wasted food. This interactive workshop will focus on ways to reduce the lifecycle impacts of wasted food by working with businesses and consumers on actionable and measurable food waste prevention strategies. Ashley Zanolli from the US Environmental Protection Agency will share a new community-based food waste prevention program that is going national, called Food: Too Good to Waste. Register here.
Napa Valley Wine Tour (October 11): Extend your trip and come to Napa Valley to experience the true wine country of North America. Attendees will be treated a limo guided tour, vineyard visits, a picnic lunch and 3 course dinner around the beautiful vineyards of the Napa Valley. Anticipated to run from 10:00 am – 8:00 pm (With a bus picking up at the Hotel Nikko and dropping off at the Hotel Nikko that evening). Cost is estimated around $250.
